South Maui is the driest region in Maui. There are several places you can visit in the southern region of Maui including Wailea, Kihei, and Molokini. Wailea is well known for having many luxurious resort hotels. If you visit Wailea, you will find many hotels and shopping centers. The main tourism spot at Wailea is the Makena Beach.
There are plenty of parking lots near the Makena Beach. Makena Beach has two beaches including Big Beach and Little Beach. Big Beach is most visited by tourists. The Little Beach is located on a hill north of the Big Beach. There are a few pit toilets and picnic tables at the beach. The food at the concession trailer is expensive so it is best to bring your own food. While at the Makena Beach, you can participate in recreational activities such as swimming and snorkeling. You can also go for a walk at the Wailea Beach Walk. The Wailea Beach Walk is about 1.5 miles long. Tourists who want to watch the whales can visit the beach during the winter. There are a few golf clubs at Wailea including Wailea Golf Club and Makena Golf Courses. Besides Makena Beach, you can visit other places such as Ahihi Kina u Natural Area Reserve and La Perouse Bay to perform snorkeling activities.
Kihei has warmer temperature compare to other towns. It is hotter in Kihei because the winds do not regularly pass through this region. The primary way to access the Kihei is through the Kahului Airport. At Kihei town, there are two prominent massage parlor including Shayla Massage and Maui Massage. You can rent the sail boats from the Kai Kanani Sailing Charters. For people who are interested in snorkeling, they can go to Kamaole Beach Park III. You can also take the snorkel cruise at Kihei Boat Ramp if you want to go snorkeling. There are several snorkeling rental stores such as Snorkel Bob and Maui Dive Shop. The famous Kamole Beach is located at Kihei. The Kamaole beach is located at the Kamaole Beach Park. There are three Kamaole Beach Parks including Kamaole Beach Park I, Kamaole Beach Park II, and Kamaole Beach Park III. You can explore the Polynesian culture by visiting the luau.
Molokini is a volcanic crater situated off the coast of Maui. The Molokini crater is one of the best snorkeling spot. The water around Molokini is rich in various types of marine lives.
