Below is an extensive guide to the many diverse and beautiful areas that you may encounter during a tour of the North Shore of Hawaii.
North Kauai is an isolated region with beautiful panorama. The north shore of Kauai has many interesting places to visit including Waioli Mission House and Church, Kilauea Lighthouse, Hanalei Town, and Napali Coast. Waioli Mission House and Church is one of the historical sites listed in the list of the National Register of Historic Places. It is situated on the boundary of the village at Route 56. The architecture style of the church is New England style. Both the exterior and interior of the church features are New England in Style. The church was built from blocks that are made of coral limestone in 1837. Originally, the church has no chimney but Reverend William Alexander added it. The mission house has been restored numerous times for tourisms. Most parts of the houses are not changed. The home decoration of the mission house reflects the Hawaiian style.
Kilauea Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in the north of Kauai. The lighthouse was established in 1913. It is well known for having the largest lends. It was built to guide ships that are traveling to and fro from the East. The lighthouse was converted into a landmark in 1970. Since it serves as a landmark, the original light is replaced with a light beacon with lesser power. Around the lighthouse, there is a large green field. Some of the things you can find nearby the lighthouse include vegetable farms, Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, Mokuaeae Islet and etc. Tourists will be able to enjoy the pleasing view of the ocean. Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge exhibits a variety of wildlife including seabirds, red-footed boobies, and Laysan albatross. Mokuaeae Islet is a sanctuary for bird and monk seal located offshore.
Hanalei Town has many mountains, valleys and waterfalls. If you want to get away from the crowded places, you can visit Hanalei Town. There are many amenities in Hanalei Town including churches, grocery shops, surfing rental houses, snorkeling lessons, stores, and restaurants. On the Road to Hanalei, you will find many gift store and clothing store.
Napali Coast is a popular destination for hikers. At Napali Coast, there are 5 valleys and many waterfalls. You will have the opportunity to observe the ruins left behind by the ancient Hawaiians. Many hikers will hike 2 miles from Ke’e Beach to Hanakapiai Beach. After that, they will hike another 2 miles to reach the Hanakpiai Falls.
