The architecture style of the church is New England style. Both the exterior and interior of the church features are New England in Style. The church was built from blocks that are made of coral limestone in 1837. Originally, the church has no chimney but Reverend William Alexander added it. The mission house has been restored numerous times for tourisms. Most parts of the houses are not changed. The home decoration of the mission house reflects the Hawaiian style.

It was built to guide ships that are traveling to and fro from the East. The lighthouse was converted into a landmark in 1970. Some of the things you can find nearby the lighthouse include vegetable farms, Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, Mokuaeae Islet and etc. Tourists will be able to enjoy the pleasing view of the ocean.
