The best time to perform snorkeling activity is in between September and April. The strong ocean currents that are generated in Alaska cause the Kealakekua Bay to be a risky snorkeling spot. If you are a beginner, you should visit the Ali’i Park.  Halawa Bay is suitable for people with intermediate snorkeling skills.

There is one beach that stays calm throughout the year. Murphy Beach Park, also called Kumimi Beach Park is not affected by the harsh wind conditions. During the summer months, the beaches on the west side of Molokai will remain calm. Examples of beaches in the west end of Molokai include Pohaky, Ilio Point, Dixie Maru and Moilili Kawaikiunui beach. You can rent the kayaks at the beach if you want to go on a snorkeling tour.
