Although Molokai is a remote town, you are still able to find stuffs to buy at the shops. There are many small shops in Molokai including gift, kitchen, books, surf, and pharmacy shops. All kinds of souvenirs can be purchased including dancing hula, beachwear, wooden deco, sarong, mugs, coconut shell, and etc. Each gift shop in Molokai offers different variety of gift items. Therefore, it is recommended that you visit all the stores so that you have more choices. The majority of the shops in Molokai are opened between 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. They are usually open from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, the shops will close at 2 p.m.
There are many shops at the Ala Malama Street. The Ala Malama Street is the only street where you will find most shops in Molokai. Some of the shops, which you can find at the Ala Malama Street, include Kalele Bookstore, Simon & Friends Pet Store, Imamura, Haunani Flowers and etc. The Friendly Market offers fresh produces and general merchandise for local residents. If you are planning to have a picnic, you can visit the Friendly Market to buy the picnic food.
If you travel further up from the Friendly Market, you will find a historic grocery store called Misaki. Molokai Centre shopping mall is located near the American Savings Bank. The shopping complex is made from wood and stone. Nearby the shopping center, there are several large trees providing shades.
Molokai Island Creations is situated at Kaunakakai. The store offers fashionable Hawaiian style clothing such as t-shirt, swimsuits and other tropical fashions. Hand painted clothes can also be purchased at the Molokai Island Creations.
Molokai Fine Arts Gallery offers a large range of crafts, gifts, and souvenirs. Molokai Fine Arts Gallery offers fine decorative items such as ukuleles, Hawaiian sculptures, and jewelry. If you want to buy surfing accessories, you can visit the Molokai Surf shop. Various types of sport clothing can be found at Molokai Surf shop including shirts, swimwear and etc.
In Molokai, you can buy coffee beans from the Coffees of Hawaii Plantation store. The Coffees of Hawaii Plantation store is located at the Highway 480. Before visiting the Coffees of Hawaii Plantation store, you can explore the irrigation system. After that, you can enter into the shop to buy local crafts and coffee beans. Besides, you can buy fresh macadamia nuts are the Purdy’s all-natural macadamia nut farm.
