Honokowai is a town situated in North West Maui coast. The town is situated north of the Lahaina town. According to the census in 2000, the town has about 6,700 residents and 2,600 households. Kaanapali Airport is the nearest airport to the town. Formerly, the airport is called the Kapalua West Maui Airport.
You can find the Honokowai town in between Kaanapali and Kahana. It is situated near the Honokowai Point along the Highway 30. Some of the best beaches in Maui can be found in Honokowai. The coastline of Honokowai and lush green valleys offer breathtaking sceneries. Life in Honokowai is simple and easygoing. If you want to get away from the hustle bustle of city life, you should visit the Honokowai town. Many people like to ride bicycle down the Honokowai coastline. Some of the nearby attractions include a jungle, and waterfall. When you live in Honokowai, you can easily rent a kayak and explore the surrounding region. The town has one of the largest snorkeling equipment rental stores. If you are looking for high-end hotels, you can visit the nearby town of Kahana. There are several affordable hotels in the town. There are many condominium properties where you can buy at the town.
In Honokawai, there is a beach park called Honokawai Beach Park. The beach park is situated near to the Aston Paki Maui Resort. It is within walking distance from the Lahuiokalani Chapel. There is a children playground in the town. You will also find a shower facility at the town. Other facilities that you can find at the park include barbeque grills and picnic tables. At the park, there is a large grassy area where you can have picnic. The beach park has plenty of parking spots. Local people often visit the park during the weekends. The local people come to the park during the weekend because they are not working. The beach is narrow and has many rocks. If you want to go snorkeling, you can wade towards the Paki Maui Resort. There is an opening where you can swim through the space in between 2 reefs. The beach is protected from dangerous ocean wave so it is safe to conduct recreational activities there.
