The church was built in 1856. The area of Keanae is destroyed by the tsunami in 1946. As a result of the tsunami, most of the buildings are destroyed. Only one building is left which is the stone church. Keanae beach has slippery shoreline. The ocean weather is unpredictable so it is recommended that you don’t swim here.
