Best Beaches to Visit in Lanai

Lanai has some of the best beaches in Hawaii. There are a number of beaches you can visit at Lanai including Huawai Bay, Hulopoe Bay Beach, Kahemano Beach, Keomuku Beach, Lopa Beach, Manele Bay, Naha Beach, Polihua Beach and Shark Bay. Huawai Bay is a small beach surrounded by many cliffs. There is a series of tide pools near the lava shelf. Many local fishermen like to go to Huawai bay to perform fishing activities. Nearby the Huawai Bay, there is steep trail called Po’opo’o Fisherman Trail.  If you hike on the Po’opo’o Fisherman Trail, you will reach the base of the sea cliff. If you want to swim at Huawai Bay, you must make sure the water is calm. The beach has no lifeguard stations, restroom and etc.

Hulopoe Bay Beach is a famous beach frequently visited by tourists. There are a lot of water activities you can carry out at the beach. Because the beach is situated near the southern coast, it is safe for swimmers. Many people claim that the Hulopoe Bay Beach is the safest place for swimmers. If you are skilled in snorkeling, you can dive into the sea and explore the beautiful corals. You can also catch fish at the Hulopoe Bay Beach. You don’t need to use any advanced fishing gear to perform fishing at the beach. If you plan to spend a lot of time at the Hulopoe Bay Beach, you can stay at the nearby hotels such as Four Seasons Manele Bay. There are several golf courses near to the hotel including Challenge at Manele. Hulopoe Bay Beach is one the beaches where you can watch dolphins.

Kahemano Beach is the perfect place for people who want to catch Hawaiian fishes. There are various kinds of Hawaiian fishes at the Kahemano Beach. The bottom of the ocean has many rocks so it is not suitable for swimming. In Hawaii, Kahemano means sharks. The name is given to the beach because the reef sharks often wander around the water near the shore. It is not known why reef sharks like to visit the beach. The local fishermen often visit the Kahemano Beach. You should rent a jeep if you want to gain access to the beach.

Keomuku Beach is beach located on the eastern coast. This Hawaiian beach has the longest fringing reef. The beach is visited by people who want to have picnic. The local fishermen also visit the beach regularly.
