Travel Tips on Ewa Beach in Oahu

Ewa Beach is located on the western side of Pearl Harbor. The beach is situated in the District of Ewa, Honolulu, and Oahu. The population of the town of Ewa is about fourteen thousand. In the Hawaiian language, Ewa means Stray. It is called Ewa because of a legend. According to the local people, the gods were playing ulu maika game one day. While they were playing the ulu maika game, one of the stones was rolled to a distant place. Different terms are used to refer to Ewa Beach. The term Ewa is usually used to refer to the west of the Ewa Beach. The term mauka is used to refer to the north of the Ewa Beach. Makai is used to refer to the south of the ocean. The Diamond Head crater monument is found in the east of the shore.

 

Ewa Beach is rich with the history of Oahu. It is very near to the tourist attractions in Oahu. Many hotels and accommodations can be found near Ewa Beach. Some of the tourist attractions located near to Ewa Beach are Diamond Head and Falls of Clyde. If you like golf, you will enjoy spending your holiday at Ewa Beach because many golf courses can be found within the proximity. A large grassy field can be found near Ewa Beach. You can carry out all kinds of activities at the large grassy field including playing Frisbee and baseball. There are several picnic tables and coconut tress so you can have picnic there.

 

The land near Ewa beach is located about 5 feet above the sea. It is estimated that about ¼ of the land is submerged under the water of the Pacific Ocean. The residents in Ewa beach are made up of Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, Asians and etc. The diversity of the culture in Ewa Beach is well maintained until today.

 

If you want to access Ewa Beach, you have to take the Fort Weaver Road. If you are a sports fan, you should be familiar with the Ewa Beach Team. The Ewa Beach Team is the team that wins Curacao team in the Little League World Series in 2005. From Ewa Beach, you will be able to view the mountains and lush greeneries. The Hawaiian Waterworks is located near to Ewa Beach. There are also many parks and golf courses nearby Ewa Beach. One of the golf courses located nearby to Ewa Beach is the Ewa Villages Golf Course.
