If you are in need of a good realtor but unsure how to find one there are several things to keep in mind as well as doing to help you find the right realtor for you and your family.
The first thing you could do is by contacting local real estate professionals for their opinions. Of course if its an actual real estate agency they are going to recommend themselves so try looking for things such as mortgage companies or even real estate investing companies. It would be beneficial if you know someone who works in the industry such as a title representative, escrow office, loan office or even a homeowners insurance worker. All of these people would be able to recommend realtor's from the areas they are employed in.
If you are unable to find advice from anyone then its time to get out the phone book and do some calling. You can discuss some things over the phone with local real estate agents such as "Who they would recommend for your needs". While they may be hesitant to offer other companies especially since they may be losing a commission but you will be able to find out who they respect as far as competitors. You can compile a list of these agencies and then decide if you would like to meet them for an interview face to face.
The Internet also offers an alternative for those who are looking for a simpler way to find relator's. Finding a realtor who advertises themselves but not as property would be someone worth looking into.
