Closets, Garages, and Laundry

There are so many things that potential buyers look for when purchasing a home. One thing that most people look for is extra space for things that are not needed on a daily basis or just for additional storage space.

Closets are popular among those who have families. Buyers are often more interested in homes that offer not only bedroom closets but hall way closets and and extra closets throughout the house. Walk-in closets often help to raise the value of a house especially if its located in the master bedroom. The rest of the house should also offer a fairly decent size closet as well. Make sure that your bathrooms have enough space to accommodate your towels and linens.

Garages are a must have when purchasing a home in any area. While it varies from town to town the size of the garage it can increase your resell value. It's more common today to see people purchasing two car garages versus the older more traditional one car garage. In some areas its even more common to purchase a three car garage if available. This space is not only used for your cars but for storing unwanted items that have no other place. It may also house things such as ATVs, boats, and can possibly even include a work station. Many choose to create a work area inside their garage to keep it separate from the house.

Laundry facilities are often one of the first things that potential buyers will look for. While they do not want the laundry area to be an eyesore for visitors it must be in a convenient area of the house. Normally laundry facilities are found on the main floor of the house and is considered the best location for it.
