The real estate market of Waikiki is a district of towering condominiums and hotels, with tourists flocking by the millions to enjoy the sliver of beach that surrounds the city. Waikiki offers more than 10,000 hotel rooms for guests to stay in, and more than 1000 stores open too.
Waikiki is simply incomparable to any place here in the world and many people are left in awe after visiting here. Condominium properties are quite plenty here, with more than a hundred high-rise buildings despite its area just being a few square miles. Because of this, Waikiki is also a densely packed area with barely any space left open.
Waikiki condominiums can be considered a market by itself. The condos here sell like its everyday commodity and have the highest occupancy rate (non-owner) in Hawaii. Condos range from a leasehold studio-type single room with an overlooking view of a parking lot for around $150,000, to a luxurious penthouse with panoramic views of the ocean for millions of dollars. What’s really great about condominiums in Waikiki is how it is able to provide its residents with the convenience of living in the city, combined with tranquillity and ambiance of a paradise island. A short 2-minute walk from a Waikiki residence can easily take you to a world-class surfing area, and pass by three, maybe four Starbucks.
Many potential homeowners who desire to own a vacation estate in Honolulu will usually visit Waikiki for a small condominium unit. The condominiums in Waikiki are available for rent all year long as many tourists frequent this area. Summer is definitely the peak season here, although it’s not surprising to find people gather by the beach at any time of the year. Waikiki Living
Residents of Waikiki will be able to tell you just how close to the action you could be when you live here, especially with its nightlife events that should be perfect for any taste. Some people actually consider Waikiki as “Vegas on the beach” due to the major hotels built on the sand with upscale boutiques surrounding the area. Here you will find many signature items, be it Armani, Prada, Gucci or YSL. Well known brands such as Nike and Hawaiian Island Creations can also be found in stores here, as well as around 50 ABC stores. ABC stores are like your typical convenience store which sells general merchandise, usually anything that a tourist would probably need. You should not be surprised if you see 3 ABC stores in one corner of town!
The eastern area of Waikiki is a place near Kapiolani Park that is filled with lush greens and leads all the way through Diamond Head Crater. This place is commonly known as the “Gold Coast” because of the several expensive and extravagant oceanfront homes that are built along the coastline. Try wondering how people here earn a living; I’m sure you’ll get the point.
