If you prefer newly constructed or brand new communities, check out Ewa Beach real estate. The community of Ewa, pronounced as “ehvah”, is just at the southwest side of Oahu. Here, you’ll find several new subdivision homes. Moreover, construction of newer houses is still ongoing. This ongoing development boom will probably continue until the year 2020.

Ewa Beach, Ocean Pointe, Kapolei, Westloch, Gentry and several other areas are included in the totality of Ewa Plain. The area of Gentry itself has about 20 different communities, including new ones like Haleakea, Cypress and Latitudes.  You’ll be amazed of this neighborhood especially if you walk around here during the middle of the day. You’ll definitely notice all the new houses. Mainland visitors of Oahu will be surprised to see a large selection of newer houses here for a reasonable price. 
A nice, comfortable three-bedroom 2 bath 1800 sq. ft house in Ewa is valued at around $500k. If you check out other similar houses in Hawaii Kai, which is at the opposite of the island, the cost of the same type of house is more expensive; it ranges from $800-900k.

Commuting and Community in Ewa Beach

Location is definitely everything in Oahu. Fortunately, Ewa Beach is situated perfectly. It takes about 40-50 minutes to commute from downtown Honolulu in traffic. Because of this, the houses here are cheaper than other areas. You may be able to get a larger, newer and well designed house in Ewa Beach for a cheaper price. The time it takes to get there from Downtown Honolulu is definitely what makes it more affordable. For about $500K, you can already buy a newly built house in Ewa Beach. If you can afford it, luxury homes are also for sale; prices reach up to $1 million. 

Improvements in Ewa Beach

The city and county of Honolulu has now expanded the way to Ewa Beach. Now, there is scarcely any traffic going to Ewa Beach once you get off the freeway. Before, it usually takes 30 minutes to get there via Fort Weaver road; now it takes about 5 minutes. In addition to these new developments, a new courthouse is scheduled to be built in Kapolei. This development means that there will be less traffic and less people needing to travel all the way to the town proper. 
Despite of the commute to the town, Ewa Beach is attractive to home buyers because it leverages on one aspect: new affordable homes. Several hundreds of new houses are being designed and developed at Ewa. If you don’t mind the commute time of 40 minutes to get to the town proper, then Ewa Beach is definitely a place you should consider.
