There are some very unique things about relocating yourself or your entire family to Hawaii. Without knowing these few things, you can make the move much more difficult for yourself then need be. Moving is enough of a pain for most people without making it worse, knowing these few tips will help the move go smoother and faster.

In Hawaii it is very easy to find fully furnished places. Fully furnished in Hawaii does not mean just tables beds and chairs. It means pots, pans, cutlery and in some cases even bedding and towels. While you may not want to throw everything away before you move and see what you have, it is very wise to pack your things into clearly labeled boxes and have a friend or family member ship the items that you need.

Clothing is one of the things that can be found inexpensively in Hawaii, and more than likely if you come from any kind of colder climate most of your clothing will be unusable in Hawaii. Very few people ever wear jeans while living in Hawaii. You will not need any kind of winter clothing as well. Going through everyone's clothes in the family can take some time, but other than underwear, shorts and shirts, there is very little that most families currently have that they could bring with them to Hawaii and use. It is not worth the time to pack all the clothes up, and pay for shipping them when they are not going to be worn anyway.

Getting your car to Hawaii is worth the transportation costs; it is hard to find out if anywhere on Hawaii even sells cars. It is well-known though that the price of gas is very high, most people do not drive very far when they do. That being said, only one island has public transportation by way of bus, so if you plan on making any kind of trips, make sure you transport your car.

Things you do need to bring are your prescriptions; filled for quite a while why you try to find a new doctor. Bring any medical records as well, getting them from where you used to live will not be easy and you want to have up-to-date information available in case of an emergency. Bring documentation for your pet as well, if you have any. They will need to be an up-to-date on their vaccinations in order to enter the state of Hawaii as well as follow other guidelines.
