Banzai Pipeline is well known for the tubular wave. The term was taken from the Japanese word Bonsai. The wave of the ocean is furious during the winter month. The wave causes the beach to offer a spectacular view to the tourists. If there is high surfing wave, you should stay away from the water. The water is calm during the spring and summer months. All kinds of recreational activities can b carried out at Banzai Pipeline Beach including snorkeling, water skiing, sun bathing and etc. You should stay away from the water from June to September. During June to September, lots of limit will be washed up to the seashore. If the limu stings you, you can rub some vinegar on your skin. In winter months, the wav can reach up to 20 feet. The lowest height of the Banzai Pipeline wave is 6 foot tall. Every year, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing competition will be held at Banzai Pipeline. The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing competition is only held when the ocean water is calm. There is a parking lot nearby the Banzai Pipeline. There are 25 spaces in the parking lot. Some of the facilities you can find at the beach include shower, bathroom, picnic tables, trees, and etc.
If you are at Oahu, you should grab the opportunity to visit Banzai Pipeline. The best time to visit Banzai Pipeline is early in the morning. It is recommended that you visit Banzai Pipeline in between 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. If you are from Waikiki, you can drive to the beach with a rental car. There are several highways you can take to reach Banzai Pipeline if you are coming from Waikiki. You can take either highway 1 or highway 2. When you are driving to the beach, you should avoid asking the local people as they may give you the wrong directions. Most of the local people are only familiar with the local landmarks. Before you reach the beach, you will pass through Wahiawa town. After you have passed through Wahiawa town, you will pass the Wahiawa Bridge. If you keep on driving, you will see a pineapple field.
Tourists who are new to the region can reference a map. If you are staying overnight at a hotel, you can obtain a booklet called “A Free Souvenir Guide to Oahu” from the customer representative. If your hotel does not have the booklet, you can buy it from the ABC store. Other places where you can obtain the booklets are Honolulu Airport terminal, magazine stand and etc.
