About Hawaii Kai

Hawaii Kai is a large residential area located on the island of Oahu in the county of Honolulu.  It is on the eastern side of the island and use to be known for being a great fishing area.  Since the 1960s much of the area has been redeveloped for housing lots and commercial real estate.  Neighborhoods now extend back into the valleys and separating ridges, and the marina has been developed to allow many people to find a home on the water.

Hawaii Kai is where some of the nicest homes on the island are located.  It is an upscale community home to many multi-million dollar homes and the only community in Hawaii where it is possible to get a home on the marina.  Great places for a waterfront home include Spinnaker Isle, Anchorage, the Peninsula, Koko Isle, Kuapa Isle, and the West Marina.  Any of these places would be great for a boat lover.

For those that would prefer a great view, there are great hillside homes available.  Mariner’s Ridge, Na Pali Haweo, Kamehame Ridge, Hahaione Valley, and Kamiloiki are places that have great ocean and marina views.  Queens Gate and Laulima are also great communities that have luxurious homes.  Even Sandy Beach has wonderful homes down the strip.

Homes in Hawaii Kai are priced on the high end on the average for homes in Hawaii, but the price is generally worth it for the quiet atmosphere and beautiful scenery.  People can be seen up and down the water on a daily basis either kayaking, snorkeling, or just sightseeing.  There is also no shortage of activities to keep someone busy who lives in this area.  Hawaii Kai offers nearly everything someone could be looking for in paradise.
